What a deligthful article. I was introduced to bird listening by my partner, but Karen takes it to a whole new level. Thank you Karen for teaching me how to listen better.

This author is the best! I read this, and thought, "Hey! I could be a bird listener, too!" What a beautiful, generous, joyous piece! Hooray for Karen Buchinsky!

I love this piece about listening to and watching birds. The writer's voice is so clear, so right-next-to-me, so full of information and her love of nature! I'm going to print it out and take it outdoors with me next spring, along with a lot of bug spray!

I feed the ducks and geese. Occasionally get my breath taken away by a cardinal or some little yellow bird (I don’t know the name). However, I am now much more motivated by this piece to take interest in the bird community. Karen Buchinsky story of her bird watching has peaked my interest. She gives the birds soul and makes them much more likeable. (I used to curse the birds for what they do to my car). Now I am going to pay much more attention to see what birds are around and listen to what they are saying.
