About Southwoods
Southwoods Magazine is a free monthly publication serving Western Massachusetts and Connecticut with direct distribution mailing to the towns of Southwick, Westfield, Agawam, Feeding Hills, Tolland, and Granville, MA as well as Northern Connecticut (Suffield, Granby, and beyond).
Southwoods Magazine has provided its loyal readership with a mixture of informative articles, events, photographs and artwork for more than thirty years.
Each month, Southwoods Magazine features a local artist on its cover, a retirement advice column, non-profit news and events from area communities, and classified ads within its pages.
Writers Wanted
Southwoods Magazine is always looking for writers who would like to have their stories and poems published!
Submit your article or poem for review. Include original photographs or drawings. Subject matter is up to you. However, Southwoods Magazine articles about local history, the environment, green living, recollections, human interest, agricultural preservation, creative writing, theater, performing arts, general art, crafts, New England attractions, and food are all popular subjects. We prefer articles to be 1000 words or under.
Terms and Conditions
If accepted you will be paid a fixed fee of $1.50 per printed column inch of text as it appears in the magazine. You will also be paid per photograph or drawing. We publish articles based on timeliness, space, and quality of content. Articles must be sent in editable plain text format. All artwork must be sent in High Resolution, preferably 300 DPI in one of the following file formats: JPG, EPS, PDF, TIFF.
Southwoods Magazine reserves the right to reprint your article at its discretion. However, you retain the ability to submit your article to other publications. By sending us your article you accept these terms and conditions.
